MARCH 1 and 2
Circle Time: Weekend in Review
Children tell the most exciting or memorable thing that happened during their weekend.
1) Crafts: Vegetable Stamps
Dip different vegetables in paint to stamp to make a collage.
Theme Activities
Food Groups: Explain the food groups to the children, with examples of foods that fit in each
category. Ask them to come up with other foods that would fit in one group or the other.
Match game with our food groups.
Snack Time: Veggies and Dip
Serve Bite-size veggies and dip for today’s snack. Good Vegetables to serve are carrots, celery,
cherry tomatoes and peppers.
Music: The Vegetable Song
Story Time: Good Enough To Eat
MARCH 3 and 4
Circle Time: Good Day
Sharing with their friends their favourite toy, book, movie, etc. which they may bring today.
Crafts: Favourite Foods
Children will draw a picture of themselves and around the pictures will be different kinds of
foods that they love to eat.
Theme Activities
Favourite Food Graph, take a poll of what foods the children like best.
Food Safety, discuss which foods we should wash before eating and the good ways to clean up
after cooking. Brainstorm about washing dishes, wiping off the countertop, using different cutting
boards, making the oven or stove hot enough etc.

MARCH 5 and 8
Circle Time: Show and Tell
The children can bring in their favourite recipe from Mom’s Cookbooks.
They can explain their favourite food, what goes in it, and why they like it.
Crafts:
Cut out pictures of their favourite foods and glue in a collage.

MARCH 9 and 10
Circle Time: Student Spotlight
Children take turns talking about themselves and their families.
Crafts: Pasta Madness
Using different types of pasta we will create patterns, discover textures, and work on designs.
We will glue them onto a paper plate and paint the pasta in different colours.
Snack Time: Fruit Melon Bowl
We will cut open different fruits and use a melon scoop to create tiny fruit balls. They can put the
balls into a bowl and have a colourful, healthy, sweet snack!
Theme Activities
How Do I Eat This? We will show different foods and talk about how you eat that food. Do you have
to cut it? Can you eat the entire food or are there parts we don’t eat?

Circle Time: Children will share their favourite Teddy Bear!
Cooking:
Rice Crispies in the shape of Teddy Bears
Craft: Make a Teddy Bear Picture
Theme Activities:
“Teddy Bear Picnic” we will have our lunch on a picnic blanket with our teddy’s.
Music: Song Teddy Bears Picnic and Teddy Bear Teddy Bear
Story: The story of the Teddy Bears Picnic plus we will watch the video.
MARCH 15 and 16
Circle Time: Discuss St. Patrick’s Day
Explain how St. Patrick’s Day came about and why we celebrate it.
Craft: Leprechaun Bookmarks
Make bookmarks with leprechauns on sticks.
Hand Print Rainbow and the pot of Gold.
Theme Activities
The children are part of a leprechaun village getting ready for St. Patrick’s Day. They must talk
in Irish accents and talk about the problem with being tiny and green.

Circle Time: Discus the Four Leaf Clover
What Time is it Mr. Leprechaun?
Craft:
Decorate a Four-Leaf Clover and Pot of Gold
Theme Activities:
Have three and four leaf clovers mixed together. The children are to count how many of each?
Which has the most? How many clovers are there altogether?

Circle Time:
St. Patrick’s Day and Luck. Where did the idea of St. Patrick’s Day and luck come from? What
did St. Patrick do that made him so historical? What country is St. Patrick associated with?

MARCH 22 and 23
Circle Time: Telephone
Children can play telephone in a circle. I start the message then by the time it reaches the last
child we will learn how the original message has been changed as it goes around the circle.
Crafts: Bean Scene
Making a picture out of assorted dry beans. By drawing a farm scene, a house, an animal, or any
other picture they can think of.
Theme Activities
Table Manner Drama, we will pretend to be at a fancy dinner party. We will act out how we will
enter the room and behave at the dinner.

Story Time: Story about Food Groups
MARCH 24 and 25
Circle Time: Discuss with the children all about Easter and how it came about.
Crafts: Easter Colouring sheets, Easter Egg Hunt, Egg Colouring
Theme Activities
Discuss and experiment with Easter colours and blending to see results.
