prepared to respond appropriately. Our emergency preparedness procedures
include doing fire and earthquake drills with the children, practicing our
emergency evacuation procedure and storing emergency supplies.
- If we have to evacuate
the child care building in case of a fire or earthquake, all the
children will meet at our designated meeting spot, which is located in
the middle of the front yard. If
we are unable to re-enter the building for an extended time, we will
drive or walk to the Deep Creek Fire Hall which is south on Highway 97B.
If we go to any place other than the child care centre, parents can reach
staff by calling the cell phone number that will be posted on the front door.
If possible, a staff member will return to the child care area to direct
parents to their children.
In our emergency preparations we are also asking parents to send the
following provisions for each child. These provisions will supplement child
care supplies in case of an earthquake. In the large ziplock bag attached to
this sheet please include:

batteries
